OVERVIEW
About Sikkim
Sikkim packs snow peaks, Buddhist monasteries and high-altitude lakes into a state you can comfortably cover in under a week. Gangtok makes an easy, well-stocked base for the first couple of days before the roads climb higher.
From there it's a choice between the east — Tsomgo Lake and the Nathula border — and the north, where Lachung and Yumthang Valley reward the longer, colder drive. We build most Sikkim itineraries to cover a bit of both.
